Apple May Add Action Button to iPhone 15

According to a report from MacRumors, code in the fourth iOS 17 developer beta hints at functionality for an Action button on the next-gen iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. This button could be located on the side of the phone, replacing the current Ring/Silent switch.

The Action button could be used to perform a variety of tasks, such as launching a specific app, taking a screenshot, or activating Siri. It could also be used to customize shortcuts, so users could assign their favorite tasks to a single button press.

The addition of an Action button would give users more control over their iPhone. It would also make it easier to access frequently used features without having to fumble with the phone’s touchscreen.
