Xiaomi has gathered much praise for its Redmi Note 11 Pro released last month, rendering users another better-than-average smartphone under 400$. But for those who are low in budget, they may expect a cheaper alternative to Redmi Note 11 while not sacrificing much in the specs. Here is a suitable choice——the Blackview latest phone A95. To help users have a better understanding of the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Blackview A95, this article is going to compare the two so that buyers can decide how to get the greatest value out of the money they spend. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Blackview A95 VS Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro: Design

The substitute Blackview A95 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro stood poles apart with regard to design. Aesthetic preferences are subjective, and both the Chinese phones have taken a generational leap forward compared to their precursors.

On the back, Blackview A95 delivers brilliant sheen and futuristic design style with three color options inspired by the infinite beauty of ocean, night sky and galaxy. Blackview named them Summer Ocean Blue, Aurora Night Black and Fantasy Galaxy Rainbow. Whereas, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro offers the same numbers of options——Polar White, Graphite Gray, Atlantic Blue.

A95 is suitable for people who are sensitive to color and like to spice up their life with more hues; In comparison, Note 11 Pro is a tad monochrome without much glitter, and people who are into minimalist design may favor the Note 11 more.

On the front, Blackview A95 features a 6.528-inch display with dewdrop cutout, while Redmi Note 11 Pro boasts a similar size of display——6.67-inch with a punch hole cutout mounted on the center. In terms of display clarity, Note 11 stands out with 10802400 resolution compared to the 7201600 resolution of A95 display.

However, when it comes to brightness, Blackview A95 takes the lead with 4.0×106 nit peak brightness when Redmi Note 11 Pro only achieves 1.2×103 nit. Therefore, for people who can’t see well in low-lit environments, A95 is more of a better option.

Additionally, Blackview A95 is much lighter and more compact, measuring 163.7mm in length, 75.5mm in width and 8.55mm in height and weighing only 195g. Whereas, Redmi Note 11 Pro only differentiates a little from A95 by measuring 164.19 mm in length, 76.1mm in width and 8.1 mm in height and weighing 202g. Although 7g of weight difference is nothing to scoff at, but the Blackview A95 is surely much more comfortable to hold in hand or for single-hand use.

Performance

Performance is a key differentiator between the two phones, but not quite to the degree you’d expect.

Redmi Note 11 Pro brings an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 chipset to the party, while the substitute Blackview A95 is packed with octa-core MediaTek Helio P70, users will not notice any striking differences when using the duo to deal with all the basic tasks ranging from web-browsing, document-editing, message-replying and game-playing.

Despite the difference in chipset, Blackview A95 offers similar storage with Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro. The former flaunts 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.1 ROM, while the latter is equipped with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 ROM. One thing to note, both phones are quite generous to offer up to 1TB of expandable storage.

Battery

Both Blackview A95 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro are battery monsters, but one lasts longer than the other. The Redmi Note 11 pairs a 5000mAh cell, but Blackview A95 almost catches up with Note 11 with a 4380mAh battery.

It is reported that Redmi Note 11 Pro is able to last two full days on a single charge and it only takes 15 minutes to charge the phone to a full 24 hour capacity with 67w fast charging. Despite lagging behind Note 11 Pro, Blackview A95 is actually rather competent to survive two day without charge, but in the case of moderate users.

Camera

It is delighted to note that both phones go a little further than their competitors in low-light photography. In spite of the obvious megapixel gap——Redmi Note 11 Pro sports a 108MP wide camera, while the Blackview A95 is packed with a 20MP camera, these two cameras work on a similar theory——the binning technology.

The only difference is that the former works by combining nine 0.7 μm pixels into one large 2.1μm pixel (called the 9-in-1 binning technology) while the latter by combining four neighboring 1μm pixels into a large 2μm super pixel (called the 4-in-1 binning technology), to improve the light sensitivity of the cameras. That makes both cameras able to capture brighter snapshots even in a poorly-lit environment.

The 20MP camera of Blackview A95 is said to be capable of improving light absorption by 4 times higher than predecessor and 300% higher than ordinary cameras. The 108 MP camera Redmi Note 11 Pro is believed to be able to do the same thing but little is said about how the camera improves low light photography performance.

As for camera numbers, Redmi Note 11 Pro can undoubtedly beat Blackview A95 with four rear cameras, including an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera and the 108MP camera. However, A95 could best Note 11 a bit with multiple camera modes, including HDR2.0, Night Mode 2.0, Pro Mode, PortraitColor, AI Beauty, AI Portrait Bokeh and HDR Video.

OS

Both Blackview A95 and Redmi Note 11 Pro run Android 11, but they have built their own OS on top of Android——DokeOS 2.1 for A95 and MIUI 12.5 for Note 11.

Reportedly, MIUI 12.5 features better privacy protection, new dynamic wallpapers, revamped notification sound and haptic feedback and an app called Notes.

According to Blackview, DokeOS 2.1 provides users with a bunch of OS bonuses, such as exquisite new themes of icons & wallpaper, new interfaces, Dark Mode, Game Mode, AI Pre-loading, Split View, Long Screenshot and three useful apps called System Manager, Cold Room and Data Migration Assistant.

A95 VS Note 11 Pro——Which is Better?

From an overall perspective, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro outperforms Blackview A95 in cameras, performance, battery, but in case of design, display brightness, weight, the duo are on a par with each other.

However, such conclusions are drawn without considering their price tag. For Blackview A95, it is priced at 149.99$ with a coupon while Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro is charged for 349$, almost 3 times more expensive than A95. Actually, the difference between A95 and Note 11 Pro is not that noticeable if you are not a demanding user. Plus, with only a third of the price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro, you get almost the same battery and almost equal low light photography performance.

Therefore, if you are low on budget and looking for a value-for-money smartphone, then opt for Blackview A95. However, if you have enough budget and desire a handset with nicer specs, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is your right pick.
