If your phone isn’t charging, it can be a frustrating and inconvenient problem. There are several reasons why your Android phone/iPhone may not be charging, including issues with the charging cable, charging port, battery, or software. In this article, we will explore some of the most common causes of charging problems and how to fix them.
1. Check the Charging Cable and Power Adapter
The first thing you should do when your phone isn’t charging is to check the charging cable and power adapter. Sometimes, the cable or adapter may be damaged or not working properly, which can prevent your phone/iPhone from charging.
To check the cable and adapter, try using a different cable or adapter that you know works. If your phone starts charging with a different cable or adapter, then you know that the original cable or adapter was the problem. If your phone still doesn’t charge with a different cable or adapter, then move on to the next step.
2. Clean the Charging Port
Another common reason why your phone may not be charging is because of a dirty or damaged charging port. Over time, dirt and debris can accumulate in the charging port, which can prevent the charger from making a proper connection.
To clean the charging port, use a small brush or toothpick to gently remove any dirt or debris. Be careful not to damage the port while cleaning it. You can also use compressed air to blow out any dirt or debris that may be stuck in the port.

4. Check for Software Updates
If your phone still isn’t charging after trying the above steps, then it may be a software issue. Check to see if there are any software updates available for your phone and install them if there are.
To check for software updates on an iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap “Download and Install” to install it.
